2009 Golden Globes Style

I'm not the Fashion Police, nor do I agree with everything the FP say, but I love to see what is happening on the red carpet stylewise. Here are a few favorites and some fabulous trends: light colors and bright colors, strapless or one shoulder asymmetrical gowns, the "pouf" and the mermaid. My absolute favorite dress and style was Eva Mendes, so chic, fun and glamorous without looking dated.
Eva Longoria Parker is my second favorite, the fit is perfect, love the red, the scalloped neckline and the mermaid silhouette of this Reem Acra Gown! Another red carpet white gown by J. Mendel (one of my favorite designers) worn by Kate Beckinsale. Love the pouf at the neckline and the mermaid style
I love the draping and the one-shoulder on this Elie Saab gown worn by Laura Linney, so classic hollywood.
Another J. Mendel worn by Elizabeth Banks, love the texture and once again the white/light color that could be a great alternative wedding gown.
I think Evan Rachel Wood looks gorgeous in this vintage Elie Saab gown, love the layers and dramatic texture.
OK, so I love Lanvin and I love Maggie Gyllenhaal and even though it's not my favorite I think it's a great statement and styled very beautifully, plus the asymmetrical neckline with the pouf is very NOW.

Men's Wear

Lately I've been dabbling a bit in men's wear custom design, here is a coat I created: This is a light gray wool & cashmere blend with a hidden front button placket, fully lined. I definitely like the idea of designing women's wear that is inspired by men's wear, the classic funtional aspect, clean with little to no frills;)

Tamales Bay

This weekend was spent exploring Tamales Bay and hanging out at the Oyster co. (great place to sit back, relax, eat those yummy oysters and your drink of choice in the picnic area) It was so nice to get away from the city and drive around the north coast, we caught a beautiful sunset on our way back. It was all so beautiful and peaceful:)

Wedding Bliss

I'm so excited, I just got a few pictures from one of my clients who's wedding gown I designed. This was a Jewish/Mexican wedding that took place early October, the bride wanted a wedding gown inspired by the layers in the traditional Mexican dress. The bride and groom salsa danced at their reception (which really brings out the layers of pleated organza) I'm hoping to get more pictures of this dress but it is described as a lace and pleated organza layered bustier/strapless gown with a satin ribbon and bow tie detail around the bust.
