Photo Phriday

Maybe it's my anticipation of the upcoming Tim Burton's, Alice in Wonderland (set to release 2010!!!) My all time favorite children's story (such a classic). Johnny Depp to play the Mad Hatter?? Sorry, back to my point.
Below are images from Elle Moss's Photography which has a very surreal, nostalgic quality but also a few cheerful, dark themes as well. Check out Elle's blog to get the interesting story behind the head...

Chrysiliou

This carnelian necklace is from San Francisco based designer Chrysiliou, paired with a couple dresses from my fall line (available next month). I was fortunate enough to be located next to Chrysiliou at the Rock Make Festival. I absolutely adore this necklace, the firery red/brown stones are perfect with the gold chain. I found out that the carnelian stone was used during the Roman times to make signet or seal rings for imprinting seals with wax for official documents!

Hat's off to Mad Men

I love the bow tie grey hat worn by Peggy on the hit series, Mad Men. Does anyone know where I can get one? Couldn't find pictures of the back view but this is seriously a great accessory and I need one!

Etsy Finds: Bubblegum Secretary

I got featured in the Etsy Finds daily emailer today! I definitely recommend subscribing to this http://mailinglist.etsy.com/ as it features fun shopping themes daily.
Today's theme: Bubblegum Secretary

Here is a snippet from today's finds:

The Secretary look has been going strong for at least a few years now, and—yea!—it's back again for fall. Take last year's tie-neck blouse, freshen it up with a high-waisted skirt or jumper, and add some fun 'n' bright plastic-y accessories. Psst—get started now so you can get those custom orders in and score the best vintage finds of the season!
Bow Tie Blouse

Gorgeous, hmm? This blouse is beautifully made—the sewing geek within me is ooohing and aaahing over those perfectly flat seams. By amandaarcher, $120.

Design Inspiration of the Day

I absolutely love this draped silk jersey dress by Carolina Herrera fall 2008 seen in Elle magazine, September issue. I don't usually work with a lot of jersey knits (my "expertise" is in wovens), but I adore this drapey, free flowing "Greta Garbo" look.
Below are a few more inspirational jersey dresses for fall.

Vice City

Here is a fabulous dessert from Orson: a restaurant that pushes the imagination, this is a chocolate mouse with gelato and gold coated blackberries.
Have a Fabulous weekend!

Tea Garden

I've taken a break from blogging as I've needed to catch up on "things" but I'm back! We've had family visiting us recently so I've been a bit of the tourist guide lately, here are some pics from the Japanese Tea Garden in the Golden Gate Park:

Mapping the Mission

The San Francisco Chronicle issued a great article about the Mission Districts independent design retail scene in Sunday's Style section. They included The Mission Statement, Dema, Studio 3579, Built By Wendy and a few others. The Mission is definitely an independent design mecca!
