Friday Artist

Photographer Alicia Bock's work is like a moment in time, her images capture a vintage spirit, I love the "viewfinder" series with the black borders and the soft focus. These pictures bring character and beauty to sometimes the simplest nature scenes. You can find her work on etsy as well.

WhizBang Fabrics

I recently stopped by WhizBang Fabrics in the Mission-Potrero Hill district in San Francisco and was very impressed with the fabulous selection of printed cotton fabrics. Helen at WhizBang is awesome and very helpful. I will keep this place in mind for future custom orders that require printed cottons, much better than Britex (both atmosphere and price).

Custom Made

Here is a recent custom made dress I created for a client. I screen printed the artwork after hand-dying the fabric and sewed appliques and buttons to the dress fabric. The lace collar has two fabric flower pins that are removable, and the entire dress is made from 100% cotton fabric, & fully lined. This was one creative dress and one of my favorites this season.

Here is one of my most recent custom-made projects, a cotton summer dress. This was made for a client who sent me her own fabric and notions.

Friday Artist

Polaroids and Pinholes based out of the UK creates beautiful photographic prints using traditional techniques; pinhole camera, photograms and polaroids to capture these images. I love how the detail of a dried flower or fern can create a pattern or print that brings a new element to the subject matter, very inspirational.

This Sunday is the fashion show, block party at Mission Statement on 18th street (between Mission and Valencia). it should be a fun event for the indie fashion world in SF. I'm so looking forward to it, the fun starts at 3 in the afternoon.

I'm so excited about this treasury selection on etsy, not only are my flower pins included, but it's a beautiful selection of pictures titled "Parfumerie" created by Sadie Lou Who. This treasure list will be up until Friday so check it out while you can! Here are a few of the pictures:

San Francisco Chronicles

I like the fashion spread in Vogue's June issue, very Alfred Hitchcock heroine.

Friday Artist

Happy Friday the 13th! Dollface Design is an artist who does multi media, collage work. I really like the vintage, whimsical humor that her art evokes. Dollface also has a blog that is definitely worth checking out.
